Professional Research Tailored to Your Project
Every research question is different. Some matters require a focused review of existing information, while others call for deeper, multi-phase investigation. My pricing is designed to be transparent and flexible, so we can match the level of work to your goals, timeline, and budget.
All projects begin with a free consultation so we can discuss what you need, what you already know, and which approach makes the most sense.

- Preparation of a notarized affidavit, if required by the court
An estimate of hours can be provided after an initial review of the case so you can make an informed decision about scope and cost.

$35.00/hour – This rate applies to:
- Document retrieval from courthouses, archives, and other repositories
- Targeted research assistance for specific questions or lookups
- Genealogy training or one-on-one guidance sessions
Document retrieval and research assistance are billed on an hourly basis. Genealogy training may be structured as a series of sessions with an agreed-upon number of hours.
Expenses and Payment
Research fees cover my time and expertise. In addition, some projects may incur out-of-pocket expenses, such as:
- Vital record order fees
- Photocopying or scanning fees
- Repository or mailing costs
These expenses are typically billed separately with prior notice.
Most projects require an initial retainer, applied against the agreed scope of work. We’ll discuss the retainer amount and payment schedule during your consultation, based on the size and urgency of your project.
Not Sure Which Option Fits Your Project?
If you’re unsure whether your question is best suited to an hourly engagement, a package, or a combination of services, we can sort that out together. During a free consultation, we’ll review your goals, existing information, and preferred timeline, and I’ll recommend a practical starting point.
