I’m Hope Glidden. I help families and professionals answer genealogical questions.
I am a professional genealogist specializing in family and genetic genealogy. More than twenty years as a paralegal and over three decades of family history research have given me a strong foundation in genealogical work. I understand not only how to find records, but how to interpret them within legal, historical, and family contexts.
My work focuses on helping families who want to understand their roots or solve “brick wall” problems, using well-documented genealogical evidence. Whether I’m reconstructing a family tree, solving complex family history problems, or interpreting DNA results, my goal is to provide clear, sourced answers you can use with confidence.
I work on a wide range of genealogical questions, including family research in the Mid-Atlantic states (New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware), and DNA interpretation (including unknown parentage or unknown grandparents) to support traditional research.
I have pursued advanced genealogical education through SLIG, GRIP, and the University of Strathclyde, where I earned a postgraduate certificate in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies.
I currently serve as President of the Southeast Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
I have presented for genealogical societies and other organizations, and at the National Genealogical Society Conference in 2026. My research interests include land records, church records, and my elusive southern ancestors.
Genealogy is about more than names and dates—it’s about context, evidence, and the stories that emerge when the records start to agree.
